An online educational company that creates programs for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn about the entrepreneurial process to transform and develop them into founders of businesses.

Overview

  • The Journey is an online learning program for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn about the entrepreneurial process.

Business Goal

  • The goal is to onboard aspiring entrepreneurs to a community to contribute their skillset. The onboarding guides users to understand web3 and blockchain. Contributors are rewarded with cryptocurrency for their work. 

My Role

For 36 weeks, I worked alongside 3 designers conceptualizing and bringing life to an onboarding experience. 

  • I was part of the entire UX design process. Methods used were stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis of the current market trends, industry research, direct mail, moodboards, persona, sketches, qualitative user research, user flows, storyboards, style guides, usability research, and prototyping medium and hi-fi wireframes.

Research

Client Interview

  • We started off by interviewing stakeholders to debrief the project and understand the company’s goal. We learned that their concept is new without any direct competitors. 

Industry Research

  • In order to familiarize our knowledge of the industry, we split up topics among the team and educated one another on blockchain, cryptocurrency, nft and Dao. We found several companies related to the product’s concept, and were able to use that information to create an original product. 

Market Analysis

  • Which ties into analyzing Dao, education, and cryptocurrency companies to see the way content is shown and other opportunities to incorporate into the designs.

Persona

  • We compiled our research data to create a persona to have a better understanding of who we are designing for. 
  • We found that gamifying the experience attracts high schoolers who are between 14 to 18. 

How might we

  • How might we design an intuitive and gamified onboarding experience for members of the community to understand their role and grow within the ecosystem? 

User Flow

  • We designed a user flow for Sam to complete his onboarding experience. In order to peak his interest, the welcome screen introduces the benefits and steps of joining the community. It helps to guide the design direction by outlining the steps.

Sketches

  • I sketched the first 4 screens to present my ideas to the team. We chose areas to incorporate into the medium fidelity wireframes.

Moodboard

  • Individually we gathered elements from different sources such as electric car sites, artificial intelligence and elements from rpg games, board games, and candyland. This guided our visual direction and style guide. 

Medium Fidelity

  • I referenced the sketches and designed medium fidelity screens to conduct usability testing. 

Each planet represents a tool that the user has to learn in order to be successful in the Cambio Lab’s community. Within the planet lays relevant information relating the application tool.

The clients wanted a futuristic and sleek design. We adopted a space theme which they were impressed and pleased by.
